Something new is taking shape behind the scenes, a children's book series I've been quietly dreaming up for a while now. I've started something I can't stop thinking about.

A psychological suspense novel set between Northeast Minneapolis and Minnesota's Iron Range — a landscape of deep winters, old mine country, and communities that protect their own.

Minnesota. A missing girl. Three friends who know more than they've ever said. And someone who has been watching all of them for a very long time.

It's a story about silence. About what it costs to keep a secret. About the particular cruelty of guilt that has nowhere to go.

For years, Sarita balanced her creative life with a full-time career managing one of Minneapolis's most beloved salons. Now, she has returned to writing full time — and taken the whole operation abroad.

She and her husband Devante recently made the leap to the Mediterranean coast of Spain, where the light is different and the pace is slower and the stories are already finding their way in.

Her debut novel, We Say Nothing, is in development — a literary suspense that has been waiting patiently for exactly this kind of time and space. Chapters are emerging from Calpé, Spain and Durrës, Albania, two very different coastlines on opposite sides of the same sea.
